"How the Read the Bible" Online Zoom Class

Most of us do not get an opportunity to learn how we are supposed to read the Bible, that is, after we come out of Sunday School. To move from the kids table to the adults table of Biblical discussion, new strategies and “aha!” moments are necessary so we are not left behind with rudimentary analysis skills.

This course will go over how adult learners should look at the texts of the Bible, whether it be the Tankah, or the New Testament.

We will introduce :

  1. Genre and Genre Markers

  2. Literary Trope and Motif Adaption

  3. Anonymity and Redaction

  4. Translation

  5. Adaptation, Meta-Narrative, and Ideological Overlay

This class will start you on a path and provide you with the tools necessary to look at the Biblical Texts in a way that inspires questions!
